The UNSW Solar Racing Team are very excited to announce that on 16th July we will be displaying Sunswift III in Martin Place. This display is part of the Sydney Division's prelaunch to Engineers Australia's Engineering Week and will run from 11:30am to 2pm in the afternoon. Sunswift III will feature alongside robots, paper aeroplanes and numerous other exciting engineering projects.

Today, Sunswift III and several of the team members starred in a TV advertisement for a major national financial institution. The team rose to the occasion, customising the car for it's maximum acceleration while on camera. Extras, actors, directors and producers bustled, watching and learning about our car in the process. While the production crew assured us that their particular operation was quite small, the attention to detail and sheer volume of work that was required to capture each second of film was staggering. Many thanks to the production crew and for their generous contribution to our adopt-a-cell program!
Next weekend the team will be once again attending the Randwick Eco-Living Fair at the Randwick Community Centre. Highlights of the event include talks with Dr Mark Diesendorf from UNSW, free bike checkups, an interactive kids and creative zone including wildlife shows and bush tucker talks, a huge mobile wormfarm and an eco-sculpture competition. Not to mention an appearance by Sunswift III and the chance to catch up with the team before we head of to the Global Green Challenge in mid October.
