Family, friends and supporters of the team gathered at the Clancy auditorium for the long awaited
launch of the UNSW SRT´s World Solar Challenge 2003 campaign. Making a special appearance, team patron
UNSW Vice Chancellor Rory Hume took time out of his busy schedule to be photographed with the team and
say a few words of encouragement as they embark on their adventure in the outback.
Also there to wish the team well was Jeremy Carter, Australasian managing director of National Instruments. Presentations were made to the team members, and a special gift presented in appreciation to Ken Ferguson from the Sydney Institute TAFE. Ken´s long-standing support for the team has been invaluable, and we will sorely miss him.
The launch was excellent opportunity for all involved in the Sunswift project to become better acquainted with each other, share a story or two, and share in the celebration of a group of young people whose passion, dedication and hard work have driven the SRT to where it is today.
