SCHOOL TOURS

School tours are an integral part of Sunswift’s community education objective. In 2008, the team took Jaycar Sunswift III on an school tour from the Sutherland Shire to Mudgee in New South Wales. The objective for this trip was to raise awareness of the importance of sustainability and to share the enthusiam of innovative technology. A total of 4 schools were visited , with Sunswift presenting to Years 8 through 12.
Since then the team has visited numerous other schools, including Knox Grammar and The German International School. The team aims to organise another school tour in the coming months so that we may continue in our quest to educate younger generations.

SUNSPRINT

The NSW SunSprint Model Solar Car Challenge is an exciting competition for high school students in Years 9 through 12 where they form teams to design, build, and race model solar powered cars. Every year, Sunswift runs the state finals, held at the Kensington campus of UNSW. The team is responsible for setting up and managing the event for the high school entrants, including scrutineering and judging the cars to decide the most innovative, most inspired design and the best construction.
