Etienne Le Sueur – Electrical Team Leader

Etienne Le SueurEtienne is currently leading the electrical sub-team, which works on all electrical aspects of the teams car. These include:

  • Drive-train (Motor controller, motor, etc)
  • Telemetry and sensors
  • Battery and associated monitoring system
  • Wireless telemetry communication
  • Driver communication system
  • Solar array and array optimisation

Etienne recently completed his Masters at UNSW in Computer Science. His thesis focused on analysing the effectiveness of computer processor energy-management mechanisms such as dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS) and low power idle states (C-states).

Specifically, Etienne is involved in the following projects:

  • Array simulation and panel placement optimisation
  • Tyre-pressure monitoring system
  • CAN development and debug tools

As with most people involved with the team, Etienne is passionate about efficiency, and squeezing every last Watt out of the car’s electrical systems.
