| | | | | | It took us nearly half the night and the whole morning charging period, but we finally worked out the problems with the maximum power point trackers. By the time we finally went to sleep, we had about a half a dozen theories to explain the problem. As soon as the sun came up, we worked out the source of the problem and Jamie, Florence, Thomas, Ken, Rob and Jeff put together a new cable harness to fix the problem. Meanwhile, the mechanical and electrical teams tuned the car up for the day, the fleet team checked all the support vehicles and everybody ate breakfast -- today's entree...cornflakes and milk in a cup. 8:05 am - The cable harness took 5 minutes too long but we had to be sure it was correct. The Japanese team Ikuei Neo passed us before we got underway... 8:50 am - We arrived in Dunmarra media stop. The weather is fine and getting better. 9:30 am - We passed Tokyo Salesian Polytchnic's Ikuei Neo. 10:13 pm - We passed University of Toronto's Faust. 11:50 am - We passed Tamagawa High School's Dolphin. The weather is fine. 1:50 pm - We passed Tokai Spirit 2001 - not a cloud in the sky! 2:10 pm - We passed the Kanazawa Institute of Technology's KIT Golden Eagle. We're 30 km north of the Tennant Creek media stop. Beautiful weather for solar car racing! 2:45 pm - We stopped in the Dunmarra media stop. Willy The Whale Willy!
