| | | | | | Today was effectively a rest day for SunRace. To allow everyone to reach Melbourne in time for a convoy escort to the city this day's racing wasn't timed. We decided that we would save the effort of charging our batteries and ran a fairly relaxed pace during the drive to Bendigo. Once here we stayed for a short while, then loaded our car into the trailer for the drive to Campbellfield on the outskirts of Melbourne. At Campbellfield the race participants formed into a convoy and we were escorted by police into the city and towards the Melbourne Museum Plaza. Here we were waved through the finish line by Rod Kemp, the federal environment minister. A large crowd was on hand to greet the solar cars and electric vehicles. After some time spent milling around and talking about our car we headed off to our accommodation for the night. We are very grateful to Trinity Grammar School who were kind enough to provide us with a place to sleep for the night. Tonight was to be our night off from racing so we headed of to the Glenfarrie Hotel where team members were very keen to partake of a quiet beer, and demonstrate that we're all pretty ordinary at pool. After that it was dinner at the Sara Bistro, a small pizza joint, and then home for a night's sleep. Willy The Whale Willy!
